Hospital Bed Exchange ("we," "us," or "our") is a national outreach program of Fair Lawn Medical Equipment Gemach (operating as Fair Lawn Gemach Corp), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Fair Lawn, New Jersey. This Privacy Policy applies to information collected through hospitalbedexchange.com.

Information We Collect

We only collect information you choose to provide and basic technical information needed to operate the site.

• Information you submit through our forms. When you offer a hospital bed to donate, or request one, we collect your name, email address, phone number, and ZIP code, along with details about the bed (such as type, size, condition, and mechanical/electrical features) and any notes you add. If you upload photos of a bed, we collect those images.
• Automatically collected technical information. Like most websites, we collect standard information such as your approximate location (from your ZIP code), IP address, browser type, and pages visited, primarily through analytics and security tools described below.

How We Use Your Information

• To review your submission and identify a possible match between a donor and a recipient within approximately 50 miles.
• To contact you about your submission, confirm we received it, notify you of a match, and follow up on the status of a delivery.
• To operate, maintain, secure, and improve the site and our matching program.
• To measure the performance of our outreach (including nonprofit search advertising).

How We Share Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share it only in these limited ways:

• With a matched party. This is the core of how the program works: once we identify a match, we share the donor's and recipient's contact information (name, phone, email, and general location) with one another so they can arrange pickup and delivery directly.
• With a moving partner. For matches in our local service area, we may share pickup and delivery details with a professional moving company to help coordinate transport.
• With service providers. We use trusted third-party services to run the site and program — for example, to host the website, store our records, send email notifications, store uploaded photos, protect against spam and abuse, and measure site performance. These providers process information on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
• When required by law. We may disclose information if required to do so by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of our organization, our users, or others.

Photos

Photos you upload are stored with our hosting provider and may be shown to our staff and to a matched recipient to help them evaluate a bed. Automated screening is applied to uploaded images to detect inappropriate content. Please upload photos of the bed only, and avoid including people or other identifying details.

Cookies and Analytics

We use Google Analytics and Google Ads tools (via a gtag) to understand how visitors find and use the site and to measure the results of our nonprofit advertising. These tools may set cookies. Data Retention

We keep your submission for as long as needed to make a match and to maintain records of our charitable activity. If you ask us to withdraw your offer or request, we will mark it inactive and remove or anonymize your personal details when it is no longer needed.

Your Choices

You may ask us to update your information, withdraw your donation offer or bed request, or delete your personal information at any time by contacting us using the details below. You may also unsubscribe from further messages by replying to any email we send you.

Age Requirement

Hospital Bed Exchange is intended for adults. You must be at least 18 years old to submit a donation offer or a bed request, and this site is not directed to minors. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. Consistent with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), we also do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13; if we learn that we have collected such information, we will delete it.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the information you share with us. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page.
